Fifty is fabulous, so picture the reality

I am surprised to see that the feature described on your print front page as “Kate Moss at 50” (‘She keeps us enthralled, like Bowie did’: the magic of Kate Moss, by her photographers, 11 January) appears to be illustrated by an image of Kate Moss at approximately 20. Are there no “mature” images available? It seems that time and again we are shown that beauty is predominately in the young, and it’s a pity that the Guardian could not show us a beautiful older woman.

Vinted seems to be doing some damage to the quality of stocks in charity shops (The Vinted phenomenon: how one woman sold her clothes – and created a billion-dollar company, 9 January). Understandably, users may want to benefit from selling their second-hand clothes, but it’s a pity that this is happening at the expense of charities. Local charity shops do not require transport for individual deliveries and also encourage footfall in struggling high streets.

Let’s hope that someone is currently creating a docudrama about that other greatest stain on our criminal justice system, namely, the indeterminate imprisonment for public protection sentences, imposed on approaching 3,000 people (Letters, 9 January).

What is it about men in their 70s and their acrobatics re underpants (Letters, 10 January)? My husband, 77, goes one step further (literally), kicking them up in the air and catching them one-handed behind his back. I try to ignore the attention seeker.
